Open Downpipe 1jZ
god does it sound good. I always find myself getting bored and riding around with no exhaust on. I run the OEM exhaust with gutted cat and no rear mufflers, so within 10mins i can have my exhaust off. Just two bolts and two rubber hangers (that i keep lubed).
When you hit full spool around 2800rpms the car sounds insaine. Power in the higher RPM increases vastly. I was accidently doing 125 passing someone going to work today didnt even notice it. Forget trying to hear any cellphone or radio when your driving! I drive around a few days a month open dp, so far here in FL i have yet to be bothered by the cops, they dont even look at my car they think its someone else. That lexus name reallllllllly comes in handy sometimes!

when I first got my car on the road, I was running just the DP and I couldn't stand it. Sure it sounded mean as hell, but it was WAY to loud. Maybe it was because it was 4 inches . haha
I coudln't even talk to the passenger.

i gutted my cat...and it was not even close to being worth the effort in my opinion. the car is a lot faster with open downpipe compared to stock exhaust with gutted cat, and i didnt notice any difference at all from non-gutted to gutted cat. are the rear mufflers that restrictive?...maybe ill take those off for now until i get a real exhaust setup....

The rear mufflers KILL hp. bolt those suckers off!!! The car is not loud at all with them off. Im being serious here. The two resonators do a great job. My car is no faster open Dp or OEM exhaust with no muff or cat. With ex on, its faster on the bottom end. With no ex, its faster on the top end.

welcome to my life 2 years ago....... back in houston when i had stock exhaust my mufflers were sitting in the garage... open dp was fun but the ear aches and interior rattles arent worth it
