Default Going Single on the 1JZ

Who has gone single what manifold did you use etc. Also what are the available manifolds. I see a 1JZ single manifold on ebay but I heard you can use the 2JZGTE manifold also.

The chinese guy on ebay is developing an equal lenght 1JZGTE single manifold with a T4 flange. Ive already seen pictures of it, but it wont be in production and forsale to the public (on ebay) til this summer for high HP applications.

The current 1JZ manifold he sells is unequal lenght and for my quest of nearly 700hp, it would not work.

Cost will still be around the same, $250, all stainless tig welded very thick flanges. They are very proven manifolds that have no problem, ask anyone on SF in the 1JZ section that run them.

Don't let the cost fool you, total cost of parts for any turbo manifold is around $20 bux. That $1200 HKS manifold, your just paying for the HKS name.

$20??!?!?!?!?!1111!one??!?!!! thats complete bull****. the cost of the two flanges then piping is way more expensive. 321 stainless u bends alone are at cost to manufacturer 40 bucks a piece and you pay for all the R&D that goes into these manifolds. not to mention cost of filler rods, argon, and paying a welder or cost of a robotic tig welding machine and you say cost of materials is $20 please dont put false statements on these forums any more. stupid ppl dont know better not to believe your even dumber statements

Before you get your pantys in a wad, your forgetting where these manifolds are made.. China. Him not totally ripping people off and only asking $250 for them is a huge favor actually.

Maybe your thinking of someone custom making one here in the USA where they pay high $$ for mandrel bent pipe, etc...

I deal with China all the time. Our main business is selling hand painted oil paintings. Something we get from over there for $10 we sell for almost $500, all day long.

still there is no way you could produce a mani for $20 bucks. stuff may be cheap over there but its not that cheap or else all us fabricators would be buying all our raw stock from over there. im gonna say at the very least $50 to make it since it costs me $120 to make a cheap *** tubular manifold with all raw stock.

oh and paintings dont cost **** to make compared to building something out of steel. the tools needed alone take up a ton of any profit made building anything from metal. no offense but your exagerating a bit...

Please. That manifold that already exists would easily make 700hp if set up correctly.

Your last statement is completely FALSE for manifolds NOT made in china. Parts cost alone on 321 stainless manifolds is over $300. HKS manifolds are made in Japan, with quality materials and quality welds. Same with fullrace manifolds... made in the USA.... these guys don't use manifolds sourced from China. Chinese companies make knock-off copies of THEM.

Don't believe me? Take a virtual trip to burnsstainless and check out the prices.

Thats quite an ignorant statement that you made; it makes everything else you've said trivial and hardly believable.

I'm not trying to get in this to argue (I hate that) but there is a guy on SFs that willbuild you a manifold. He uses all Burns stainless and a Burns turbo collector. he charges $650.00 for his manifold and sends with it s copy of the receipt for the material and its $400.00.... Im having him build me one in about a month. The stuff he builds are some of th nicest I've seen. The weld are so nice. Anyway just my 2 cents.

the reason full race manifolds are so expensive is because they are made from schedule 40 tubing. extra thick so it can support a huge turbo, its about 8 bucks per 90 degree bend for 304ss multiply it out and it ususally runs around 400 also then add the premium for robotic tig.
