stock BOV's suck!
So.. This weekend i accidently fixed a problem i never knew i had. For the last few months my car has been sluggish, felt like the tranny was slipping bad. I didnt think it was a boost leak cause i was still running stock boost, 10psi, and it hit that fine.
Yesterday my friend with an EVO, sold me his turboXS rfl for $30, and it already had the hose adatper on it, so it only took a few mins to install (a few months ago i made alot of block off plates, i was boored).
Instantly the car took off, no "slipping". The dang stock BOV must have been leakin like a spiggot. Wow it feels good! I also got a MBC for $8, so ill put that on tonight or tomorrow. Anyone with a stock BOV on their 1JZ, junk it. Its a horrible design anyways. You can have boost leaks and never know it.
That might also solve my power problem, on the dyno on stock boost i only made 265rwhp. I should have been in the low 300s with my mods on 10psi. I bet i can easily do that now.
