how to aftermarket tach ?with 1j

i've searched but to no avail, i have a 1j in my car and i was wondering whihc wire do i tap into for my aftermarket tach?

i want to start a thread only of people who have searched and found the answeres to all their problems and have no more questions, but then again im i a jerk. hahaha

sorry 1jzfc3c i know you searched but you need to look for MSD tach adapter or ask Got _trd he knows more about 1jz's than the goverment thinks he should.

i don't need a tach adapter because i'm not running the factory tach , Thanks VJ your help was a little more clearer, the reason i was asking is because i just put a 1j in my rx7 and i was figuring there was maybe a plug from the engine harness that i'm not using because the motor is not in a jzz, hence i can tap into one. is the 1j diagnostic port like the stock 2jz sc300 where you can tap into the ig - wire?
