Hey guys...did I lose everyone?
Despite all my efforts to get ready for the track over the weekend.....mother nature did not co-operate. The two tracks I could have gone to Saturday were closed due to the cold weather and the two or three tracks I could have gone to on Sunday were rained out.
Anyway, I ordered a pair of wheels. 15 x 7 with 4.5 inch backspacing (or +12mm offset). Still not really fitting. Ideally I think a 15 x 7 with 5 inch BS (or +24 or so) would have been perfect. Well, I ended up rolling my fenders a bit. Still very close. Does not hit with normal driving (short test drive) but I'm not 100% sure they will clear with a good launch when the car squats. I think the fenders might still need some messaging.
So I'll be doing what I can to improve the clearance and hopefully make it to a track next week.

Ok guys, went to the 1/4 yesterday.......and did horribly. LOL. I don't really even care to talk about it but I'll try and give a quickish explanation.
I drove 3 hours to get to Carolina Dragway, which I had never been to before and I will never go back. The track sucks compared to the others I've been to. Really could have used a re-pave maybe a couple of years ago. The left lane was down right scary. The slow down area after the finish line was about as bad as a neglected neighborhood street. First track I've been to that after running it, I think I should check my alignment. Hitting bumps at 80-100 mph is not a good feeling.
I could not hook worth a damn. I spun the slicks a few times pretty significantly. My best 60 ft was only a 1.98. Part of this was due to the weather I think. It had rained the day before and it was cold and cloudy the day of. The track was probably way to cold to be running on slicks.
My driving sucked. I don't know what my problem was, I had quite a few issues that were nobody's fault but mine. I guess after driving so long to get there I was just tired of it before I even started.
My times all sucked. Didn't even break 13. Mostly due obviously to traction problems and bad driving. My trap speeds were also down a bit.
Despite all that, I'm fairly confident it was just a bad day to go. I did over hear a few other people mention that there trap speeds were down so it wasn't just me. I really think the track conditions had everything to do with my traction problems, I still think the tires should hold a hard launch. The car seemed to be shifting 1-2 better than normal. Also, no noticeable lack of performance on the drive to / from. Not down on boost, was hitting 9-10 psi or so.
I'll just have to try again and hope for better results next time I guess. I might be able to hit the local 1/8 this weekend. Won't be able to run a 1/4 again until the 14th.

I agree 1/4 tracks are the best measure but there's nothing wrong with 1/8 tracks IMO. After running both quite a few times I can pretty much estimate my 1/4 time from an 1/8 run.

Been awhile since I've updated my times. Not that I haven't been running my car, I have, just haven't had much luck lately. Between a few tuning issues, tuning the Suprastick, trying to figure out the Hoosier tires and just some plain bad luck, I haven't run any good times in months.
I've been working on the tuning issues, both fuel and Suprastick. Ran tonight at Zmax dragway in Concord NC.
Best I've run in months! New best!
60 - 1.932
330 - 5.414
1/8 - 8.205 @ 88.68 mph
1000 - 10.622
1/4 - 12.647 @ 112.07 mph
Also ran a 12.67 a 12.71 and a 12.9x.
Only slightly faster than my previous best but my 60 fts still aren't where they should be. My previous best had a better 60ft time. The Suprastick, between not bouncing on the rev limiter and having the tq converter lockup up in all gears, really helps the car pick up in the top end.
I think I'm going to ditch the Hoosiers for a set of DR's and see what happens.
