The only Supra LSD that is not compatible with the SC rear ends is the TT 6MT LSD.

I have personally swapped a TT Auto LSD into an SC300 A/T rear end. I have a good friend on the forums who has done the same swap into an SC400 rear end.
are you guys just swapping the LSD torsen unit ?

when you say 'pumpkin' what exactly are you referring to ?

I have a question... I am going to be using an r154 transmission from my stock w58 so will I be needing to use a different driveshaft if I swap the entire tt auto rear pumpkin???

ok so i am thinking about getting the TRD LSD (3.76 is that right?) and which of the install kits should i get, the TT 5pd or the NA 5spd?

also, i originally was thinking about getting the Cusco RS LSD. what is the ratio for that?
also would i need the install kit?

would you recommend the TRD or the Cusco?

i hate making new topics so i decided to resurrect this one.

thanks for any inputs.

It's not the LSD that dictates the gear ratio. You can install a LSD in your stock pumpking and still retain your gear ratio. For example, I have TRD in my SC300 pumpking and still have the same gear ratio of 4.27. YOu have to change the ring gear to change the ratio. LSD is just away of getting the power to the wheels.

Some correct me if I am wrong., below are the gear ratio for some lexus and toyota cars. Thank you search function.

If you swap out the whole rearend (pumpkin) of your car with a supra or SC400, with LSD installed then you will have a different gear ratio. But just dropping the LSD in the stock pumpkin. No change, just more grip.

From Lextreme's forum
1993-1998 Supra TT manual - 3.133 (torsen)
1998+ Lexus V8 Cars VVTi - 3.266 (open differential only)
1990-1997 LS400 - 3.62 (open differential only)
1993-1996 Supra TT auto - 3.769 (torsen, 3.77 not the usual 3.76 quoted)
1997-1998 Supra TT auto - 3.769 (open standard, torsen available)

1992-1997 Lexus SC400 - 3.912 (open differential only)

1992-1998 Lexus SC300 manual - 4.08 (open differential only)
1997-1998 Supra non turbo - 4.08 (open standard, limited slip available)
1992-2000 Lexus SC300 automatic - 4.272 (open differential only)
1993-1996 Supra non turbo - 4.272 (open standard, limited slip available)

ahhh wow haha thanks for clearing that up.

also, i have read that changing the pumpkin can lead to your speedometer not reading correctly. is this true? if so, how would you be able to remedy this?

with something like this:
http://www.bluegauges.com/prod_yellow_box.htm

"How it works
The Yellow Box is installed in the vehicle and corrects the speedo signal
in real-time. It can be re-adjusted at any time to correct for changes in
gearing and wheel sizes."

yes that would be the most cost effective way, cause if you cant do the work yourself then you have to pay for the LSD intall. The problem is, the Supra auto TT diffs are getting kinda scarce. If you find one for sale there anywhere from 500-900 plus shipping. Kaaz lsd on eaby 800.

No, you just have to change the coupler on the end of the diff to bolt to the driveshaft. Just use the one off your stock diff.
