Default Tired of searching..... NEED LSD help!

Spent the last 2 days searching. An amazing 13 pages is not fun and yet they're all not an exact answer. I have a '92 5spd sc300 w58 tranny. Can i open it up and drop in a MKIV TT 6spd diff? If not, what would I need? What changes will I have? I'm setting up the car for roadrace and drift.

the lsd is in you differential, no need to open up the transmission to put an lsd in, bc it fits in the rear of the car. 2nd. you can put the 6spd lsd in but it will break your w58 pretty quickly with how strong the lsd is and the gearing not being match well to the gear ratios. use an auto tt lsd

heh, I know it goes in the diff. I just wanted to know if the MKIV TT 6spd would work. Is the lsd as strong as getting a 2way clutch or so?

I know the Toyota one only comes Torsion, I was comparing it to the other 2way LSD's on the market. I need something to break traction loose.I'm not planning to drag race the car, just something to kick the clutch and have it respond with how I want. So does the MKIV diff bolt right in? Output shafts still work? Can I use my NA final gear and swap it over?

LAST question, if I get the DaveH lsd, will that eventually break my tranny as well?

Default Get the Supra MKIV n/a LSD

The LSD from the not-tubo MKIV Supra five speed is a direct and exact bolt up solution to what you are trying to do. The lsd was an infrequent but available option for those cars...not saying they are easy to find, but they do show up here and more likely on the SupraForums.

I have one to settle down my 2jz-gte swapped SC300 5sp.

I know the W58 lsd from the MKIV bolts in. My question was the MKIV TT 6spd. Thanks for the post but it didn't answer the question. I have this MKIV TT 6spd diff here and want to put IT into my open sc300 diff that has the w58 tranny!

Sorry Geoff, only a few people on here actually read the post, hence me searching for days for the correct and precise answer.

Sorry about the irrelevant post, though when one reads your opening post you did not exactly say you already "...have this MKIV TT 6spd diff " and you want to put it into the w58 freewheeling diff pumpkin.

I think your answer might be found in the SupraForums, the n/a MKIV Supra guys may have been down the path. (Again, sorry if you've already spent days reading the Supra Forums),

here's an excellent thread: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...ht=LSD+options I don't know if this works for non-SF members.

Good Luck
