Motor is out - finally...
With much help from my friends we successfully pulled the motor from the car.
We did run into some issues with the driveshaft that we never figured out, but we were able to work around it. Even with disconnecting the 3 bolts from the driveshaft to its mounting plate, we could not push driveshaft far enough forward to get it to slide down. It is like it has some inner tube that runs inside of it and no matter how far forward we pushed the driveshaft, it would not come loose from the pumkin OR the rubber companion flange.
We did also find out that one of the motor mounts was no good, and possibly the second was on its way out too.

As you can see from the photo, the garage was warm enough for short sleeves. (It was like 31 degrees outside here in Florida).
PROPANE HEATER FOR THE WIN!
I wanted to put motor on the stand last night, but I need to pickup some different bolts, as the ones I got are only for the lower two. No biggie.
Now the fun can begin. Previous owner lacked heavily the maintanence department, so a small valve cover leak became a huge mess on the motor, tranny and all over the engine bay. Pressure washing with Simple Green will commence this weekend.
Once everything is cleaned up enough to work, I will start pulling the head and prep it for the machine shop and get to work on the seals and gaskets around the front of the motor.
Things on my holiday list to figure out:
Evap can delete (found info on it)
Cruise Control removal (looks simple enough, just unplug and unbolt)
What all on the harness I don't have to hook back up for the AEM ( )
Do I want to powdercoat anything? (Valve covers for sure, just what color, possibly the intake manifold and such)
