so happy i found this thread helps out alot great mod i will be doin the same as an alternative for my sc300 its all parts and hardware is being shipped today

a fixed lid will be better then usuing foam to seal to the hood. it will try and suck air from the top of the hood which will is no better then the RAI you already made. you want the correct aspect of a cold air intake. put a lid on it. so it can only pull from the duct you have in the front bumper.

also use a clear plexy to close the lid so you can see if the filter needs to be changed. hope this helps with your goal.

^^I just installed that yesterday. Pretty good, though i wish the piping would have been just a few inches longer and had to get clamps for the hoses.

I know this is an old thread but I've been looking for an aftermarket intake pipe for the SC400 everywhere! Where did you get yours??

anywhere, just need any pipe that fits, it really doesn't matter at all.
