Default Sc300 Jerking at 4000 RPM

I have an auto sc300 with 73k and when I drive rev up to 4000 rpm or a little higher the car acts like it is cutting fuel. I have tried fuel injector cleaner and cleaned the throttle body and the throttle response got a little better but the problem did not go away. Did anyone else have this problem occur?

Question

What gap are your spark plugs, how many miles are on them, what brand/model are they, and how much boost are you running?

Does the rpm stop climbing for a little then start up again? When was the last time you changed your sparks? Try changing them out and see what happens

I have NGK plugs but they were changed around 10k ago and the car has been sitting in a lot before I started driving it on a daily basis after I sold my other car. I'l swap out the plugs for some new ones and let you guys know

First time is the hardest. The hardest part for me was taking the coolant hose off the throttle body. The screw clamp for the hose was faced inward so I had to find a way to twist the hose 180 degrees to get access to the screw.

I did a coolant bypass mod and I don't have to mess with that again.

As for your jerking at 4000 rpm, is that under heavy accleration, light, or both?

Oh yeah, there were some post I found in a search that said the mass air flow meter caused problem to cars with hesitation at 2700-2800 rpm. You could check that out too.

Mostly at around medium and heavy acceleration

My sc 300 is jerking at about 3500 rpm. Changed the plugs cap and wires with no improvement, however when I pulled the plugs, they had oil on them. This leads me to consider the valve/plug seal leaking. The problem was brought on when I didn't shift till about 6000 RPM. I will re-post when I get the parts put in. I hope this will bring back my beloved top-end.
Cheers

Got the oil leak fixed and the timing belt changed and still no difference. I am considering having the ecu checked. any one have any thoughts?

Pull codes....you'll find a bad EGR valve.

I agree EGR sounds like the culprit, though my supra did the same thing at 4200 rpm and turned out to be a faulty knock sensor signal. The engine was in fact cutting fuel and timing

It's not really a b!t<h its just time consuming because you have to remove the throttle body(clean it) theres a walk through on here somewhere
