Something interesting I thought about 2jz-ge, 1jz-ge??
So i'm thinking there is a 2jz-gte and a 2jz-ge, and all we ever hear about is the 1jz-gte. So I've done some searching about the "1jz-ge" (Wasn't sure if it existed and it does, not that anyone would wanna swap just for some piece of mind ) Pics and Specs below, some of you may of already known but for those who didn't pretty interesting looks indentical to the 2jz-ge. Maybe it would be a good swap in some other toyota, if it holds boost as well as the 2jz-ge / 1jz-gte .
The pre vvt-i 1jz-ge's make 1JZ-GE 180 hp @ 6000 rpm, the vvt-i 1jz-ge makes 200 horsepower and 188 lb ft of tq @ 4000 rpm.
(BTW: Finding info on this motor is almost impossible let alone getting ahold of one, but I believe in came in the chaser and "tourer?" maybe some other JDM toyota models as well.)

I dunno much more specs on that GE, they suck like that, thats about it.
Altho if i was rich and had too much time on my hand, i would get a 1jzge, do a nasty NA buildup with weber sidedrafts, and spin it 18k rpms in a early 80s late 70s imported rwd ford escort with a v160 and SCCA the heck out of it.

BTW, if a 1JZ-GE fit, then so would the turbo version. Thus, it would be completely pointless since the 1JZ-GTE swap is cheap, strong and turbo'd.....atleast thats my opinion.

1jzge never came in the JZZ body. It will fit but will take massive eletrical work. Anyways, why would you take out your 170whp 2JZGE for a 180hp crank hp motor?

Of course it would be pointless seeing that 1jzgte swaps are so cheap and if you really need a replacment motor, another 2jzge can be had for pretty cheap.

I think the 1jz-ge would be a cool engine to do a NA buildup on for something like and old school rear drive Celica. Put on ITB's, crazy cams, and spin it to crazy RPM's like VJ RC51 said.
