Well, search around this site and you'll find LOTS of threads on this topic. Plus, a great site is planetsoarer.com. The majority of people opt for the BFI upgrade, which is just modifying your stock airbox for better airflow. There are 2 new setups I've seen here, one being a cold air intake modofied to go below where the airbox sits. Just going with an out of the box CAI will yeild you no to minimal gains (at least that is the general consensus here).

As for exhaust, personal preference there my friend. Search again, as there are billions of threads on this too. Blitz costs bookoo dollars, as does RMM. Magnaflow is a very common choice (especially on the 400's), cost effective and a great exhaust note IMO(it's the route I'm going soon). Others find the Magnaflows a bit loud and growly.

Welcome to CL and remember, the search option is your best friend here!!!!

Now lets see some pics of that SC400!!!

Oh BTW, I just went a reread your post. You will find that with owning the 400 (like myself), we have very few retailers to get parts from. There just isn't a large aftermarket for our engines. But when you look around here, you'll see that a lot of people have some creative solutions!!

So true, indeed. I think I'm keeping my sc4 for a year or so, sell it and then search for a 5spd SC3.
