Need quick answer about serpentine belt.
Mine fell off because one of the pulleys (or tensioner) just fell to the ground. I've been searching and everyones saying its a 5 min fix. My question is... do I need to take out the fan that is attached to one of the pulleys? I have included in the picture which pulley has fallen off by the question mark. Where I have the number 1 is where the fan is attached. Do I need to remove the fan? Finally can someone tell me how the pulley I have noted with a question mark is attached since one day I just opened my hood and saw the pulley on the floor and my belt off the pulleys? Any quick answers will be appreciated as I really need to get this car back on the road.

Well it came off and I got it back on along with the serpentine belt. I am getting noise now when I turn on the a/c. I am going to be ordering a new serpentine belt along with that pulley. That is why I needed to know the name. I"m going to see if the belt and crank pulley fix the noise issue. If not then I guess I need to get a new tensioner.

A new s-belt shouldn't even take 5 min to install; maybe like 45-60 seconds. Just loop it around everything except the tensioner, then use a wrench to compress the tensioner, slip the belt over, and there you go. Took me longer to type than install.
I can't believe the crank pully fell off- DAMN!

I dont think its the compressor. The AC works fine but it makes that noise. I'm thinkin it is the belt and crank. The car has almost 250k now and who knows how long it has been since something was replaced. I'm going to Pep Boys right now to buy the belt and see if they have a pulley too. BTW how is the crank pulley held in place? I can't see any place for screws. Do I have to buy the whole assembly or somthing?

That tensioner pulley.
A little off topic..But, A pulley was making some noise from the front of the engine on my sc300. I realized it was the tensioner pulley.
So I changed it w/ one I ordered from PeP-Boys. It lasted about four days, before the bearing started making noise.
Yesterday I changed that one out, and its already making noise. (like a dry bearing noise) Now Im thinking of just pressing a new bearing into my factory pulley. Any thoughts?
