Hi guys i currently own a 1992 SC300 with 137xxxx miles on it. I was driving with the AC on, with my gas on E, and all of a sudden my check engine light came on. My car still drove perfectly fine. I drove the car later to work, to my friends, to school, and eventually the check engine light during that time went off. Later then i noticed that when i start my car, a lot of white smoke would come out from the exhaust, even when the engine is warmed up i still see some smoke coming out, more than a normal amount. i check the dip stick and there is no sign of coolant mixed in it. The car stilll runs fine without any kind of hesitation, the only thing that worries me is the smoke that keeps on coming out from the exhaust. I just recently purchased a new thermostat and radiator if that helps you diagnose my problem. Thank you for your time and inpuit.

White smoke indicates moisture. The real question is WHY did you purchase a new thermo and radiator? Overheating?

Regardless, white smoke is moisture and somewhere in that headgasket is a problem. You don't have to blow a headgasket into the oil, you could be blown at the waterjacket or between the cylinders, etc....

Keep an eye on your coolant level.

I concur with what ^^ said. Seems like alot of people are blowing head gaskets on here lately.

i replaced the radiator because i noticed some cracks. So i went ahead and just replaced everything else associated with it, such as the hoses and thermo. Well i just chekced the dip stick and oil cap and again no signs of moisture. Well thanks anyways guys for your input

could be the valve stem seals as well.... i have the same problem on my 400, oil gets eaten 1 qt every 5k miles on synthetic. friend has the same problem on his gs4. mechanic also said that the 2jz are just as likely in terms for valve stem seals when he rebuilt a 2jzgte when the owner blew two cylinders.
