Default No Coolant?

i had my hood open a few minutes ago to check a fuse. i was lookin around and i saw that my coolant is basically gone. the tank is almost bone dry. i havent noticed this before and i must have been driving it like this. temps have been normal, right under the halfway mark on the gauge. i even had it up to 90 today on the freeway, no problem. is it safe to drive like this for about 2 more days? there is also rusty crusty looking stuff on the bottom. BTW the red fluid has been running in my car.
