Yep i found a great deal on a complete motorset/swap, under $1000 bucks (minus $250 shipping), should have it by friday or early next week. I have a powdercoating business in its baby stages, so most of the motor is going to be dismantled and chrome powdercoated. Proabably looking foward to installing it by mid/end of june, and seeking 12sec timeslips by fall when the air is cold and i have a few mods like a higher stall torque converter, LSD, etc..

When you take your engine apart are you going to keep it stock or low compression rebuild? Also everyone, what is the overall opinion on high performance coating (hpc) and would it be good in Vj's application? Oh yea, congats to you Vj .

theres 100000s of different types of powder coats. U better believe my turbine and downpipe will be heat coated so i dont have to holler at factory heat shields. Regular engine parts like brackets, valve covers, intake manifold, pipes, anything and everything, will be regular powdercoated in some kinda chrome or translucent color

If I was going standalone, I'd put higher compression pistons in it to raise it up to 9:1

HMMMM
I think the extra 450 could go towards something extra, say a clutch, or a LSD

To each his own as they say. I myself would prefer to have new injectors as opposed to a set of used ones. I would also prefer to have the extra leg room of the 650's if I was him because once he grows tired of the stock turbos (and he will) the 650's would come in handy for a larger turbo.

Very true. Its better to do it the right way to start with. He can always turn down the fuel through the afc until he needs the extra fuel.
