supra auto TT rear is not a direct bolt in!!!!!
after fighting the rear in the rain lying on our backs, we have come to the conclusion that the back mount on the SC driveshaft is .5 in. smaller than the auto TT diff mounts.... as far as where the driveshaft bolts to the rear. the diff went in just fine, and the DS is long enough, only the bolts do not line up. i guess the only thing to do would be take both driveshafts to have them fabricated with the 5-speed SC front and the auto TT rear... that way, the length would be good, and the back of the DS would bolt to the auto TT diff. we searched the site for any info as far as the driveshaft goes when using the auto TT diff, but there was no usefull info.... everyone just says it is a direct bolt on. and they are wrong... unless we are missing something. please feel free to let us know what it is that we need to do before we end up putting the stock diff back in and returning to a one-wheel-wonder!!

The tt auto pumpkin is a direct bolt in. The NA pumpkin definitely has a smaller companion flange though thus the driveshaft problems. Ive always used a aftermarket driveshaft so never had any problems.
I coulda swore Ive seen this type of question somewhere in past.

Of course it bolts in, almost all parts from Supra's "bolt" in..... We had no problems bolting up the rear. It was bolting the drive shaft to the diff that was the issue...
So in turn, we took out the TT auto diff and stuck the na rear end back in...

well, aparently, the vets felt the need to leave out the all important detail of the custome driveshaft... perhapse they can chime in and let us know how they got arround it. i know a lot of people have done it, but this was our problem.

Before you make such a stupit post as this you might want to check. IT IS A BOLT ON!
I know because I just did it today. I swapped the flange for the driveshaft from my old diff and viola! Everything else works fine.
