car wont start after tensioner install
took my car apart to change out the tensioner.. my first mistake was when i pulled out the intake tube it yanked two of the vaccum hoses out without seeing where they go first.
after i put the car together, i forgot to plug the MAF sensor in. the car ran great for a while then shut off. so i thought i had the vaccum hoses switched around for sure. i switched them around (2nd mistake) and the car wouldn't start. didn't really push to get it started with the messed up vaccum routing, only tried once for like 2 seconds.. anyway, finally i realized the MAF was unplugged. plugged it in and fixed the vaccum hoses but the car won't start. i smell gas.. could the engine be flooded? i waited a little bit and tried it again but it still wont start.. characterestic sound is a "whirr" and i dont think the engine is cranking over. sounds like the starter is definitely working though
any ideas?

the serpentine belt moves when i start the car, so that rules out the starter not cranking the engine over.. but i dont hear the cylinders firing.. could that be whats causing the whirring sound? the engine cranks but wont fire.. would messing with that small square black block sitting in between the high tension cables cause this?
