New member & help with codes please.
Hi everyone,
I've had my 1992 SC400 for 3 weeks and I am loving it(180 000 miles). I've been roaming the boards and have observed that most people here are very helpful and friendly. I feel honored to own such a vehicle and to be amongst such knowledgeably people and hopefully will have the opportunity to attend some of the meets this year.
Since I purchased the car, the trac light has been coming on constantly. As I start the car, a humming comes from a device in the engine bay. Beside the passenger side strut tower.
I pulled two codes tonight by jumping TC & E1 from the diagnostic plug under the drivers side dash. The codes I’ve read are: TRAC 43 & ABS 53. If anyone has a moment to reply/post or p.m. the meanings I would greatly appreciate it.
I also have the infamous shudder at 41 mph. The trasmission seems to be confused between 3rd & o.d.

Nope sorry I am OBDII so I dont have to guess on the numbers. The scan tool just tells you exactly what the problem is but that ABS code is almost certainly a problem with tthe brake system.
Call Lexus service and ask them to tell you.
