Default SC400: X-pipe and keep everything else stock?

I know many here have added x-pipes with modified piping back to the exhaust (magnaflows). I was wondering if adding the x-pipe while keeping everything else stock will garner any decent results.

I would like to free up restrictions but not to the point of doing full piping and straight through mufflers.

Do you think just adding the x-pipe and keeping all other cats and resonators in place would provide a decent benefit for the price ($100-200)?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any input.

Hey man,

To be honest I think it would be a waste of money to do that. The X pipe would also be pretty short being that the 3rd cat is right there.

I don't know whether you have concerns about doing it all because of emissions or what, but personally I don't think it would be cost-effective without at least removing resonators.

Good luck with whatever you decide,

Jonny

That's true if you have a Cali spec car, but my '92 SC4 had a resonator in the front, made a nice improvement by splicing in a short crossover tube.
BTW, the stock SC mufflers are all straight through, so you may make the car louder with Magnaflows, but I seriously doubt much faster.
