Default another newbie question on na-t.....

what is the ideal wastegate to use for na-t? 35mm? 38mm? or does it all depend on the turbo set up?

depends on the turbo and the power level you are looking to attain. essentially, a bigger wastegate allows more air to bypass the exducer and is a bit better at controlling boost. However, bigger isn't ALWAYS better; it needs to be matched to the turbo and the boost level you are wanting to run. Generally, a 38mm with either a 5lb or a 10 lb spring is great intermediate size.

The stock auto should be ok on 350whp, but I would definitely upgrade your stall and maybe stick in a tranny cooler. Don't expect it to last forever.

38mm wastegate should be just fine for that power range. 10 psi spring.

your tranny should hold up when you go turbo
as long as you dont go all crazy and try racing it all the time lol
the oil cooler would be a good idea

But isn't that the point of going turbo? To drive faster and crazier than you could ever could in the SC?

38mm will be more than enough but a 10 psi spring??? no sir not unless you want to blow your engine or your planing on gettting a head gasket 10 psi is too much for stock compression unless your running 100 octane . im running a .3 bar spring and just using my boost controller to hit about .6 bar but my head gasket and arp head studs are on their way

yeah, i was thinking 10psi is a little too much for stock compression....
unless i upgrade to tt head gasket then i can boost a little more........
im definite to get dave h kit for 1700.00. got myself a blow off-valve, smic, 440cc, tt fuel pump,
and down pipe. i know it's a long way to go but ill get there sine im also getting the car repainted....hehhe

My mistake; I always assume people are going to fix that compression ' problem ' when going turbo

I wouldn't run more than 7 or 8 psi on stock compression, and no bigger than a 61mm compressor wheel (SP61 or similar).
