I believe the soarer SMIC is very similiar if not identical to the 2JZ-GTE sidemount.

I know MKIV guys run between 14-18 PSI on their stock SMIC which can be found for cheap on SF...

and SC owners have been known to use them on NA-T projects.

So, that all being said, your best bet may be a MKIV SMIC.

If you have the stock CT12s from a JZ and you plan on keeping it below or at 1bar i would say go for it. Mine spooled up great with the little intercooler, but it depends on what you want to use your car for also. Ive switched to a Skyline FMIC and that works great for high speed driving, but i put the stock Soarer intercooler in when i do gymkhana/Autocross or drifting

the stock sidemount will flow and cool plenty. I know a guy that ran close to 600rwhp on his single turbo supra with the stock sidemount. I think anything beyond that it becomes less efficient at cooling since its doesnt have the raw surface area of a front mount. It will not cease to work just by law of fluid motion, it just wont cool or flow as well.
also, lag is greatly reduced since the charging volume is much much less than a front mount.

Running a TRust smic for Soarer tt in my conversion... with pusher fan. It can handle much more that 10... How far is questionable. Never checked temps. I've gone 18 and 20 previously. It does 15 no problem. No qustion though, a larger front mount will cool charge are more. Not sure what benefits the fan does... Surely it helps but I have no data.

Oh yea, it's not a question of will it handle it, it's will it cool it/flow it.... ?
