engine running poor

Default engine running poor

I have changed my plugs, cap and rotor and my car still feels like it is missing, almost like in my old ford where when water gets into the distributor it misses every 3rd revolution, what next? replace both coils? how can I tell when they are gone? or just try replacing the wires first.
