Of the following, which do you think is the best intake for the money (for my 95 SC4):
- Weapons R cold air w/ ECU
- Injen cold air
or should I just exchange the stock air box for a cone filter?
Just wondering what u other SC4 owners did, and how it turned out...

The best intake for a lexus is a modified lexus intake aka BFI.

I had a version of the "BFI" that was pretty much just all open, still wasn't getting enough air at hi-revs.
Finally used a large, cylinder shaped K&N from another application center-mounted to a flat panel that now replaces the front half of the airbox.
The problem with many cone filter adaptors is that they don't use a very good air horn in front of the MAF, which causes turbulence, less overall flow. Another issue is that many owners expect everything to be just great after altering the intake in any way, when in fact you really need to correct the air/fuel mixture to achieve any more power.
Just something to keep in mind I guess.

Okay...now that I've read through the majority of the BFI vs intake material, I now see that the BFI is a way better choice...(thanks for being patient guys...I'm new at all of this...) I think I can do the front of the air box mod with no problem, but I'm a little worried about the rest...sealing off the otehr spots to get the ram air effect. I tried viewing the BFI installation guide on planetsoarer.com, but I think the link is dead. Does anyone have detailed instructions on how to make / install the parts for the BFI 3??

theres how I did my bfi,i think the different styles of bfi are basically if u want a huge hole in the front of ur airbox or eggcups, sealing can be done with insulating material and plexiglass....
