u should do a search on this... there have been numerous threads but no definitive solution... it may help u understand y later model shifters WILL not work without MAJOR mods....

It's ok to bring up an old topic, just make sure you make sure your question hasn't already been asked many times before and do your research first

Here are a few threads I found just by searching for 'shifter' in the SC forum among many others:

from cgbaby
quote " O/D switch was relocated inside the center arm rest. There are a couple of switches/sensors under there where the shifter is. One is for when you hit your brakes, you'll be able to shift from "P". Another is for when you go back to "P", it will let you release your keys. There's quite a bit of work involved but it's really just mechanical. I just modified what we have there now, so that I don't have to push a button (from original shifter) to get out of "P". I installed a servo so that when I hit my brakes, it pushes this lever down to release it from "P". Then it's only a matter of installing the shifter **** from Momo. The only modifications from original is that I disconnected the switch/sensor for when I go back to "P", I can take out my keys."

there ya go japSW20, that's all he said about it
