Default New Turbo Manifold

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this so Mods please move as needed.

This winter I'm putting the SC away and I have decided as well as a friend of mine to start a couple winter projects. This isn't an advertisment and is only intended to see if there is any interest in a custom turbo manifold or a NA header.

I figure while I'm making mine it would be easy to just set up a jig and make a few extras for anyone who would want one. There wouldn't be any profit in making these and I would only be offering them for a short time and they would be made to order.

As far as design for the Turbo manifold it would probably flow better than what the Dave H kit manifold would. Granted the price is right but I dont see it truely flowing well. Although I'm not promising RSP either. It would be a affordable mix of the two, with sites set on performance but not spending tons to do it.

They would be made of T304 SS (0.065" thick)and would have a flange of your choice for the turbo, however we'll probably pick the 3 most popular and just go with them.

The NA header would be a shorty type with a 6 - 1 style. Unless these become to hard to do by hand or not economical and then a tri-Y will be used.

Any thoughts comment and suggestions are welcome. If you would like to throw our a price that seem resonable please feel free to do so, although we will set the price on our costs. Nothing is set in stone and this is solely intended to see if there is interest as stated above.

Here are some photos from another project to show craftsman ship and quality.

Thumbs up

Sounds good. I would be interested myself. Sure the price has to be competitive but it also needs to function well also. I have heard about a lot of folks trying this too and give it up after trying.... Can't wait to see a prototype soon...!!!!

I'm sorry I didn't say. This will be for the SC300.

If someone will donate a 400 for a extended period of time it could be an option. We are currently doing a Twin Turbo Chevy 502 for a show car. mmmmmm twin GT40s

For price, I don't know yet. What sounds good, within reason? I have seen everything from 500-3000 for the GTE.

any news on this manifold? I've been looking at manifold options and so far haven't decided on what I want. Does SP make a mani for the GE's? I dont think they do, but just wondering.

Well as far as progress there hasn't really been any due to another project that has alittle more priority. But here are some photos of the current project if you would like to view a bit of the quality we'll try to put into the building of the SC300 manifold.

These arn't finished but hopefully I can post more pictures in the next week or so of them completely welded up. These are also posted in the Car Chat section so I'll just link to my FTP site where you can browse.

Mark me down. As far as a fair price point, aim for < $700 or so. I have no idea what your cost is, but relative to the market, you would completely own it at that price. Other manifolds can be fabbed for around that, and the off the shelf units can cost substantially more, because people will pay it.
