Default Hesitation

I just swapped my buddy's EGRs and base plate w/ temp sender out, big difference. Still need to drive it in traffic tomorrow to be sure. I checked his per MM and it checked bad, but it seems to work? I think test procedure is wrong. typical....

Bummer, how many miles on it? I guess i didnt drive mine long enough last night, EGR didnt fix it.
Kinda wondering about the reliability of these cars......so far not impressed. Did yours just stop moving? how did it fail?

600 bucks doesn't sound bad, make sure they give you a guarantee it works. Do NOT take your car to a Lexus dealership EVER. I just found something on a site a friend of mine (car mechanic) gave me. Same problem, hesitation off idle 700-1200 RPM and they said if they disconnected the MAF, it ran fine (just like mine). Turned out being the IAC. I have tested mine and it checked bad but thought the book was wrong? EGR uses the same stepper motor, I tested mine and my buddys and either of those work. Seems like a bad design for this application. Mine seems to run a little better with his EGR valve. I'll get a IAC valve next week and hopefully it fixes it. I think there about 500-600 bucks and you can hold it in the palm of your hand, and you get a whole tranny for 600?, Oh well......dont know about you but im getting tired of throwing money at this pos.

Idle air control valve, it bypass air past the throttle valve at idle. It's on the LH side of the intake plenum.
I called Lexus customer service today. They said someone would get back to me....

You could probably get one from Carson Toyota at a cheaper price. Although I hate to buy a new one just to find the problem isn't related to an IAC valve.

oops the EGRs on the lh side, IAC is on the front of plenum. Round solenoid valve looking thing with the hose running over to the intake snorkle. it's down below the Lexus emblem on the front of the plenum.
Does the trans feel the same, any difference? Still waiting to hear from Lexus before I spend 525.00 for a new one.

Even If i do replace this valve, It won't fix the intermittant no power problem. I think thers still a timing or fuel scheduling problem. One thing I will say is do NOT bring your car into a Lexus dealership. What a complete bunch of morons, I dont know where they find these people but they should return them.....Complete idiots.
