Default TT transmission is dead

So today while driving home my car started loosing power. At first I thought it might be a boost leak but after dropping my car off at a performance shop they said it was my transmission. Guess I will be getting a build transmission sooner than winter. So, what are my choices? Boostlogic? Sound Performance? Level 10? Transwerks?

Chris

PS. I raced a lot of cars lately, including a twin turbo G35.

I am not sure. I was racing a twin turbo G35 day before. I was boosting 17 psi on race gas. Perhaps that is what did it. Plus don't the stock rear ends have different ratios than TT rear end? That could cause the tranny to run little hotter. Even my cooler didn't help.

i think if you PM davegs4 he can change your screen name and keep your post count
and direct... did you at least take that G35, you were still using stock Lsd? I think BoostLogic is more reputable

Sure did. I think I will pass on building up the transmission. People want too much money for it. I asked around and the general view is that none of these build transmissions will last over 600 rwhp. So I figured I'll get a TH400 transmission after the single turbo.

Chris

PS. So is the SC300 diff different ratio than Supra TT? Anyone?

Yes the diff's are different from what i've read.

Stock Sc3 auto rear end 4:27
TT auto rear end 3:76 i believe it was?

abboushi, I just pm Dave and he did change my screen name for me...thanks for telling me.

Now I am worried about my auto tt tranny. I have the stock sc300 diff also. I haven't ran into any problems yet. Hopefully I don't run into any soon..Good luck Chris..

It all depends on how you drive. I made a lot of high speed pulls lately. My transmission had to work extra hard due to the diff. Guess I will be getting LSD sooner than I planned also.

I have a built Toyota NA tranny and converter for sale. They were built by SP, the converter stalls to ~3800, the tranny shifts firmly, almost harshly when driving around. I ran 10.17 @ 132 on this tranny, it doesn't have a whole lot of miles on it... I think I have the exact mileage written somewhere if you are interested. I paid $4100 for the pair, selling for $1800. I'll throw in a tranny cooler with the deal also. email me at Dave.Henry@Ulteig.com since I don't get over here all that often.

I do have a TH350 also, but it has a broken 2nd gear sprag right now.

Hey Dave,

At 1800 dollars it's a steal. I would have taken that deal but I actually picked up a stock transmission today from SP. I figured this transmission should last until I get a TH400. Now I need an LSD with the right gear ratio.
