Engine shut down whenever AC turn off
My engine keep shutting down whenever I turn off my AC. I was driving on the freeway and I decided to turn off my AC. The car still run fine until I exit the freeway and come to a stop then the engine just stalled. It been like this ever since, and I notice that if I turn off my AC and the RPM drop below 1000, the engine will shut down as well. Can anyone please help me on this?

JamesN,
Welcome to the AC off = engine off club. I've noticed this problem 2 years ago and I still didn't see a fix for it. Here are the suggestions I've seen (and remember from top of my head):
1. Uncontrolled air after the MAF sensor.
2. Throttle Position Sensor.
3. Idle Speed Control Valve (? - don't remember the exact name)
I got 2 and 3 replaced and I checked for air leaks multiple times. I still have the same problem. If you ask me the problem lays in ECU programming. As a matter of fact GS400 has the same, or similar, problem.

One of the common trouble area of the 1uz is Idle ctrl valve. It is located in the front of intake manifold. Clean the valve from carbon deposits, make sure it moves freely. Replace if neccesery.
BTW Just a pointer since I don`f see your car.
