sc300 reverse to drive clicking noise help!

ok my friend has a 97 sc300 and when he reverses then switches to drive it makes a loud clicking noise almost as if something is broken and it's hitting. has anyone else had this problem? any help would be appreciated. thanks!

it could be rear tranny mount also.
