Default AC clutch throwing sparks. Help.

I might as well use this thread to introduce myself. My name is Aaron. I have been lurking on here for about a year now. Recently I sold my turboed GSR swapped hatchback and my Kawasaki ZX6R to get an SC. After 2 months of searching, I found one this week. Yesterday I drove up to Ohio from Tennessee to pick up my 92 Black/Tan 5spd. It's got 165,000 miles and is in good shape.

Coming home yesterday, after about 3 hours of the AC blasting on the interstate, I heard a brief screech then the AC light started flashing. Now whenever I turn on the AC, it kicks on for about 2 seconds, then the clutch on the condensor will try to grab but throw sparks, and the AC light starts flashing once again. I did the diagnostics and got a code 43.

The previous owner had the condensor, lines, fan, etc. replaced at the Lexus dealer in 2001..I have the $2000 reciept from that.

What's the problem here and how much will it cost to fix? Thanks!

hey just bought a lexus also. had the same problem . EXACT same problem. my ac compressor was siezed up. so i ordered one off of a wrecked sc400 and had it installed and charged and converted and such for about 375 bucks on top of the price of the compressor.

that fixed my prob. good luck man.
