Default Clutch wont disengage.....

My dad had to back my car out of the driveway yesterday and he said when he put the clutch in, the clutch wouldnt disengage from the flywheel and it stayed in reverse. Any idea what the problem could be? Do the 1993 SC300s use a hydraulis oc mechanical transmission setup?

Hydraulic system. First you check to make sure your dad knows how to drive stick, then you should check your clutch fluid level

My dad used to own a manual SC300, as well as an NSX, I think he knows how to drive lol

Yeah, once I get the car titled over from me from the person I bought it from and can actually drive the car, I'm bringing it to the Lexus dealership for a full checkup. I'll pay the $75 or whatever it is and let them find everything wrong with my new car.

Shouldn't you have figured out everything wrong with the car before you purchased it?

Bought it as a project car for $2,000, knowing it had some problems with it here and there. But for the most part, it has been well taken care of (as all the paperwork shows) and it shouldnt need any huge repairs in the immediate future.

haha 75$ that's funny(I know you will pay whatever $) ... I paid 140 just for them to look at it and tell me everything was ok. Then the 2 service guys started talking about all the problems the SC's had, and to watch out for this and that blah blah ...

For more info on your tranny issue...

check in over at SupraForums -- they can be nasty, but they know their stuff. Use the search button and avoid a n00b BBQ

They've also got some good stuff on www.mkiv.com
