Shifter Moves - Is This Normal ???
SC400 - Automatic. Is it normal for the shifter to move a bit? Mine moves front to rear by about 3 mm depending on braking force. Is this due to a shift in drive-train components and what not? Is the gap between the base of the shifter and the plasitc "slider" a design feature to compensate for this movement?
Does everyone's SC exhibit this behavior?
Before you say engine and trans mounts - they're brand new, so that's not it.

i see the same in mine.... re-did the front brakes (turn the discs too) and that seemed to help, but maybe its all in my head....
when i had my car inspected they said i needed new control arm bushings... im sure that could contribute... and i bet a front end alignment wouldnt hurt at all either...

Mine kinda shivers when I go over potholes, It kinda bugged me at first but now since everyone's shifter does that I'm not so concerned. My center console also has a little play in it, I was told this is good in case someone bumps it with their arm it will give a little and not break off at the hinge. And yes, I'm **** (but not in THAT way)
