High idle after removal and replacement of throttle body
Last night I pulled my throttle body off and then put it back on. However, now I have an idle issue. The car is supposed to idle right at about 750 rpm, but now it's idling at 1000-1250 rpm (it changes sometimes). I checked all the vacuum hoses and they looked good. Does anyone have any ideas what else I could do to fix this problem?
Thanks,
TIm

also if you disconnected any part of the EGR during this make sure that it's back on properly
I imagine you removed your intake pipe as well... make sure you have no tear on the black accordion hose thing between the MAF and the throttle body.

Also make sure that you put the gasket on between the throttle body and intake manifold and make sure it wasnt bent/cracked/messed up. Any air getting pulled in unmetered can cause problems real quick with the erratic idle. Also, make sure the PCV valve hose and all other intake hoses are tight and secure.

I had the same thing happen to me. Cleaned the TB and replaced one valve cover gasket and now I have a starnge 1000-1500 idle.
I pulled the TB back off and noticed where I cleaned it it seems like the throttle plate is not closing completely. The throttle is not hitting the stop screw, so how do I get the throttle plate to close about another 1/16 on an inch?
