Default Engine Mount Change Procedure?

I'm replacing my engine and trans mounts on the SC400. I'm sure I have to jack and support the engine one side at a time, but is there anything else I should disconnect? Things like air intake tubing, radiator hoses, etc. Does anyone have the factory manuals to look this up? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Shawn

let me know how this goes man. I took a look at mine and they look pretty hard to get too, the underside looks pretty easily accesible but I can not see how they attach to the engine itself. I am sure mine are abd though and need to change em, There is a left a right and a tranny mount correct ?

Correct, the Right and Left are the same part number (believe it or not), and then you have the trans mount.

Locally, the engine mounts were $124.00 each and the trans was $94.00

Yes, I believe they are genuine Toyota/Lexus parts. The part #'s are exactly the same. I have a factory repair manual as well. I'll see if I can scan the instructions in for you. It won't be until later tonight or tomorrow though.

I can't find anything in the manual specific to engine mount replacement. It just says to attach the engine hoist chain to the engine haners and remove two nuts holding the engine mounting insulators to the front crossmember. Sorry

I just replaced mine and lowering the engine is the only way to do it because there is a nut on top also that you wont get to until you lower the engine, unless you can undo the mounts from the block itself ( mine were hard as hell, I had to use my jack handle to get good leverage to undo those suckers) but still I think lowering is the only way, and the cross member had to come out too and control arms (if you end up taking them off check out bushings too)
