~$4500-$5500 give or take...
that'd be a good kit with a mild turbo and pretty much all the parts you need besides the applicables; like a boost gauge, clutch, fuel control (although some kits do have it)

if you build your own you can come out cheaper; but for newbies its a serious no-no

It could be cheaper if used parts are found. Frankly, it will cost at least the same or more in the long run. As you start buying things, you will start wanting the good stuff. I would only trust ceratain used parts in certain areas. It is easier on the pocket book sometimes to buy pieces and match them up over time. It's a poor man's hobby and a rich man's sport. It all comes out in the wash...

Don't forget labor, even if you do almost everything, there will always be something you will wind up paying someone to do. Dyno time comes to mind...

The easiest way is to find one already turboed and go from there. They already spent the money and the price is not going to be near what it takes to get it there when the value of the car is considered (typically - I have seen both cases though).

The F-Max kit includes all of these:
- T04E-60 Turbonetics Turbo
- Thermocoated Cast-Steel Turbo Manifold
- Thermocoated 3" Mandrel-Bent Downpipe
- Turbonetics Evolution 35mm Wastegate
- Spearco W.A.V.E Front-Mount Intercooler
- MF2 ERL 3D Map Injector Controller
- MSD Boost Timing Manager (BTM)
- 440cc Lucas Fuel Injectors (2)
- Turbonetics Raptor Blow Off Valve (BOV)
- 3 Bar Map Sensor
- K&N Air Filter
- (1) Case TS-1 Synthetic Turbo Oil
- Install Instructions & Wiring Diagrams
- All Necessary Hardware & Fittings

My questions are:
1) What else is needed/suggested?
2) Is it necessary to upgrade the brakes when installing the turbo kit? Stock brakes good enough?
3) What about the fuel management/system?

If you plan to run low boost, it is said that the Fmax kit is reliable up to 12psi...
