Default SC300 Coolant Drain Plug?? Where it at?!

Im planning on flushing my coolant system out tomromrw and theres still a few things I still need to know. The most important being, where the hell is that drain plug for the engine?? I understand that the drain **** is at the bottom of the radiator and I will have to take off the underengine cover. Also, I bought some Prestone Super Flush, anyone have any eperience with this?

Ok thanks

I asked the same question myself. People helped me and I got a rough idea where it was. Anyways, the drain bolt is near cylinder #6 which is in the back of the engine on the passenger's side. If you take a flashlight and look at the side of the engine behind the exhaust manifolds you'll probably see a rusted bolt that is probably a 14mm diameter.

Remember that it's near the exhaust manifolds on the side of the engine and it's in front of the transmission and if you put your head near the gas strut on the hood you'll see it. I hope this helps.

Oh and I used some kind of Prestone flushing agent. It's has the shape of the prestone coolant jug except it's 4 times smaller. When I poured it in, the inside of my radiator turned shiny.

Don't wanna put you guys off it, but I heard that using some flushing agents could actually harm an engine? I haven't been clarified if it does or not though.

well they do contain some solvents or something that may damage your cooling system. But I think as long as you flush your system out enough it should be allll good

Ok, I think I found it. It looks like its covered in something, maybe oil..maybe old coolant. It looks af if I remove it, the coolant would spill all over the exhaust manifold, or the pre-cat..whatever that thing is. So...when Im flushing my coolant, I remove the draincock and this little plug and let the coolant drain. Then fill up the radiator with water and flush it.

Is this right, thanks? Im going to put this off until tomorrow to be sure

Also...could a mod possibly move this to the maintenance forum?
