Question Transmission mount and Engine mount replacement

Does anyone know how to access and replace the two main engine mounts and single tranny mount? My car is vibrating during acceleration/shifting and is making a whining noise in the cabin . Judging from the posts I have read, it seems as if I have to replace my engine and tranny mounts. The car is a 1998 SC400 and has 178k hwy miles on it. I am not sure if the mounts have even been replaced. So I think it's about time. I need some advise. Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
LiveSC400

I hate to revive this post but I was able to purchase a tranny mount from Hoy Fox Toyota/Lexus/Scion in El Paso, TX (great service/price and delivery). The mount was $60 shipped and arrived within 3 business days. The installation was too easy.

1. Jack up the car on one side and use (2) jack stands to support the car (you will need the jack again).
2. Unbolt the 4(12mm) nuts that attach the tranny mount to the crossmember (center of crossmember).
3. Use a 1ft. long 2x4 on the jack (length-wise along the tranny pan) and jack up to just support the tranny.
4. Unbolt the 4(15mm) bolts that hold the crossmember in place ** watch your head
5. Finally, unbolt the old tranny mount's 4(12mm) bolts that attach it to the tranny
6. Reverse steps 5 through 1. **(Be sure to jack the tranny up a little more since the new mount is probably thicker than the old one. This will help get the crossmember back into place. Start a bolt on either side of the crossmember to evenly disperse the tension. Oh yeah...it's good to have another person helping you out so nothing hits you in the head .

This fix totally got rid of any driveline vibrations I was experiencing before during shifts or at highway speeds (70+mph). Shifts are 100x smoother and I can hear my radio again . All in all, definately worth the $60 and the 20 minute job. If you have any questions, let me know.

Yeah....it's a relatively painless job. Just PM me if you need any assistance. Good luck. It will make a big difference in ride quality. I was amazed. It was like night and day .

I did my engine and trans mounts recently. Here's my post on the procedure:

Hopefully, the trans mount is all that was bad on your car, because the engine mounts are quite a bit more labor intensive.
