Default I don't think a turbo/SC SC400 is feasible

Some people have been bandying about the idea of a one-off dual turbo, and the aussies have been trying to get a SC (SuperCharger)to work, correct?

Has anyone addressed the tranny issue? How much power is it expected to hold up to? Can we draw any conclusions from the auto 2ZJ-GE trannies?

I think the engine/tranny will do good up to about 400 ish. BEcause theres a guy that ran a 250 shot of nos 12 times on a stock 1uz-fe and stock tranny. got a 12.4 everysingle time and the engine and tranny worked fine. Also if you go to planetsoarer.com they have a cool article on this guy who supercharged his sc i think its got like 400 horsepower.. im not exactly sure though.

400 lol try upward of 550 , the trany can be replaced for a 6 speed get a big turbo a 125 shot and your pushing close to 600 horsepower some ecu work, etc etc, you should be running 12s i believe, but you need to dishout close to 40k to get his done , but you definitely wont get this out of a commuter car lol (inside joke)

hahah, DaizenLex is such a cool dude.

But as far as I know no tranny except the 1UZ auto will mount to the 1UZ, am I wrong? I mean there is always the possibility of an adapter plate, i've seen it done on, um, "other" manufacturer's cars.

Yes I think you are wrong! I think it was an Aussie company who had this bad a$$ trunk with a supercharger or turbo hook up on a 1UZ and a Manual tranny also You either have to have the dough $$$$$$$$$ or the time and resourcefulness to get this done. Getting a manual to hook up to the 1UZ is not the biggest task its that darn! ECU is what so expensive and hard to bypass! Thats just Phillys 2 cents though
