PS Pump relaced...But
I just had my PS pump replaced last week. It's not making any more whining noise and it works just as new.
However, I am still seeing this pool of oil underneath the pump. I've checked the PS fluid and it's still full.
Could it be anything else that's causing this problem?
Also, my high pressure seems pretty new compare to the other hoses.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe your rack and pinion is leaking. Mine is . Also, you said it doesn't whine anymore, but does it make anymore noise than the old one? I just did the same and it is really loud, annoyingly so. AutoZone said it's normal, but the sound is also inconsistent. Thanks!

Oh, didn't know that..... but FYI, my new PS fluid looks a LOT like tranny fluid; it appears to be the same color. My old fluid was brown, though.
EDIT: I have an SC3, I don't know if that matters or not...

Yes, the SC400 uses T-IV in the tranny and Dextron in the PS pump. Both are trans fluid and both are red. Another user of red fluid in this area (also Dextron I think) is the hydraulic cooling fan. Check it for leaks too.
If you get under and drop the shroud, you'll see the trans cooling lines running into and out of the radiator. They're almost directly under where the PS is. You might also be able to see them from the top but it's pretty crowded down through there.

Thanks a lot for your help, guys!
I just went to my mechanics and he did not see any leak from the PS pump itself, the high pressure or any other hose. So that was good news.
Eventually, he found out that it's coming out from the bottom of my PS pump reservoir because he had put too much fluid in it .
RST: My new PS pump does not make any noticeable noise at all. Maybe just a very very small hiss but you really have to listen to it carefully. I did not buy a remanufactured pump from Autozone because I've read a few horror stories of them failing. Therefore, I went to a junk yard and picked up an OEM unit instead. Granted, it's old and probably has gotten quite a bit of miles on it already. But I actually trust it more than the rebuilt version.

No prob.
Or you can get one from Tap Recycling for $175 or so.
As for horror stories, I've seen this thread where a guy had three rebuilt pumps that failed on him in like 6 months..... It's in one of these threads regarding PS pumps on SC400s.

i'm rolling on an almost 2yr old rebuilt pump and i paid $150 for it from Autozone. It was one of the only things i had the courage to buy from there for it. works like a charm 2 yrs later, 50k miles, harsh winters and hot summers.... my $150 well spent. 1 yr warrenty included and all new parts inside. thumbup for rebuilt units.

Thanks M3, I will look into it, but I prolly isn't worth it for me (I'm in the South East/ East Coast). I assume shipping would be in the $50 range. I dunno....
I paid $100+tax and + my old, burnt out pump.... OLT, does your "new" pump make more noise (See my 1st post in this thread)?
