Default Sound clip of my exhaust -- full cat-back

Well this has been a long time coming, I was just never sure how to record it so it came out well. Either way, here you guys go.

I took this clip out in the countryside close to school here as to not disturb the residents of town TOO much.

Installed: 2.5'' magnaflow Y pipe, custom 2.5'' piping, manaflow mufflers

hope you like it

Listen!

Default Sweet

That sounds very nice! I bet you're quite happy with that, I would be. Can you tell us what $ you've got in this system? Installed by shop or yourself?

What exact muffler did you use? They list a ton of universals here: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/ss.htm

Hang on now, time for a really dumb question: I do not understand the use of the "Y-pipe" . Magnaflow shows these as dual inlets to single outlets. I thought we have single inlet to dual outlets. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/hardware.htm

oh i've been extremely happy with it

i used the 14829's as a few other members have on their cars. personally, i loved the look and the price was right so i went for it. they really compliment the back end of the SC.

the use of the Y pipe was to properly split the exhaust after the cat. what we ended up with was a beautiful transition from single 2.5'' out of the cat to dual 2.5'' at the end of the Y pipe going back to the mufflers.

Sounds great Ben! Thanks for taking the time to make the sound clip! I'm going to add it to the FAQ if you don't mind . What did you record with and how far away from the car? Just curious...

absolutely... that sounds great rich. i've been meaning to do this for a long time actually. i figured it'd be a great addition to your SC400 clips that you have of your car.

i recorded it with a mini disc recorder and external mic approx 5 feet behind the car. i wanted to try and capture it the best i could, but we all know to get the FULL effect you have to hear it in person.

i'm going to be recording more clips soon. i'm thinking maybe an in car WOT take off and a few drive bys, something like that. i also have in the works some fantastic video clips of my car and probably my roommate's integra. i'll update that further later on.

Has anyone tried the MagnaFlow 14851?
Specs are identical to the 14829 except it's a Race Series muffler instead of Street.
