A MAF is a mass airflow meter, basically it uses a device (i.e. heated wire, vortex generator, etc) to measure the amount of air entering the engine and interpolate that into a voltage signal (i.e. 0-5 v) so the ECU knows how much fuel and spark to add. A MAP is a device which measures Manifold Air Pressure, this is obviously a different method of metering, but with the same goal. You will need to be running a speed density type setup for this, but this is in lieu of the airflow meter, there are advantages and disadvantages to each. I see from your other posts you are interested in NA-T, I suggest you do a good deal of research....type turbo into the search engine and go nuts.
