I have a sneaky suspension something connected to the drive belts such as the A/C compressor or the alternator is going bad,.. it sounds like it's binding or something. Any ideas??

if its a constant whine at idle and while driving, check your tranny, thats what it was in my 96 GS, and i just said, its a belt or pulley or something!! Surprise surprise when my tranny shat the bed after I put my new 20" wheels on!!

In a 97 SC400 its more likely the PS pump. Check level and check for leaks. If leaking, stop it soon or your alternator might go south with it.

If it's a loud low constant whine, check your twin screws

Most likely PS, which means.... park it or buy an alt while your at it.
