Default turbo exaust on N/A

i was looking around and all the exausts i see are either the greedy blitz or veilside ones...... so i was wondering would it be ok to use a turbo exaust setup on an N/A if its just gonna be a one pipe not dual? because the turbo exaust pipes are bigger so would that cancel out the factor of not having a dual setup?.... or would the pipe say 80mm turbo pipe be too small and cause too much backpressure to the engine?

thanks

80mm isn't small, it's huge

60-65mm is normal size for NA exhaust piping. That's about 2 1/4-2 1/2 inches in diameter. 80mm is about 3".

What the best size is - that's tricky to say. I'm still learning SC stuff myself .

hmm yeah i wouldn't mind seeing a single turbo exaust on a n/a sc300 but i wonder if it would be execessivly loud like those rice burners who set off car alarms ...so gaget supra guys do that to their 2jz-ge's?... i dont know, there is just so little that they offer for n/a versions of the sc3's exaust wise...maybe i would be better off buying a GS300 since they came with 2jz's in japan and US but the SC is just sooo much more SEXY

kansei.......Supra's come with a single exhaust. I remember a while back someone went from a dual setup to a single using a supra setup.

I have also wondered this, would an exhaust for a 2.5TT Soarer work on a SC300?.

Yes it will. I have an HKS super dragger (single) exhaust for the soarer on my 300. I love this exhaust, it's nice and quiet, but when I get on it, she opens up nicely. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like with the SP71 on the car now

so why do people get the greedy mx or universal canisters when they could be getting a full system from hks, fujitsubo, etc?

knowledge of the options, and availability... The Supra single exhausts from those companies mostly fits up, just needs a couple of mods to get it right...

GReddy MX is a dual cat-back system for the 300. BLiTZ has an axle-back for the 300/400. You can do a Supra exhaust which is single but I think its a little short at the catalytic- which would have to be attached by welding. A member has done this- dont remember who but he has a picture of it.

so could you also possibly use the 1jz exausts from jspec versions or are the mounting points header-exaust points ways off or could they be made to fit with a little tlc....it would seem much easier to go from soarer to sc then from supra to sc right?

thanks again guys for the info
