1992 SC400 Evaporator - * I need some help and advice
I'm new to this forum. Very Glad I found you all. Great website!
I recently bought a gorgeous 1992 SC400 with 90k miles. The car is near perfect and it is a complete joy to own/drive. Still feels, looks and drives like a new car.
Unfortuantely, last week my A/C started blowing warm (still important here in South Florida!) I had the problem diagnosed by a pro as a bad evaporator. Tested it and found a sizable leak at the evaporator.
I was hoping somebody on this forum could help me find the evaporator, dryer and expansion valve that I will need to do the job at a great price. Does anyone know of a discount online website I could go to to order these parts and get a really good price? Or maybe a parts dealer I can call to get what I need.
Funds are a bit tight these days and any money saved would really help out.
Also, does anyone know if I can access the evaporator in the repair by just removing the glove compartment and under dash panel on the passenger side...or it it more difficult and involved than that?
Does the dash and/or the center console need to come out first?
Any help or advice would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
