Complete Tune-up
I just got a complete tune-up done. Boy what a difference:
Wires
Dist Caps
Rotors
Plat plugs
Air and Fuel filter
PCV
Water Pump
Timing Belt
Trans Service
Oil Change
Coolant Change
$982.22 Parts and Labor
I noticed the difference as soon as I stepped on the gas. Now heres my question. My mechanic said that besides the oil change, fuel and air filter (and one other thing that I forgot) he said that I'm good for another 100,000 miles before the next service. Is that true?

Check the service schedule in your manual. At the very least, oil and filter should be changed every 3000 miles if you want to look after it.

IMO, that seems right, except for maybe the transmission. You really gotta keep upto date on transmission, especially old age.

Thats a really good price! The lowest I have been quoted was 1200 for all of that. Would you mind listing your mechanics location, or maybe a phone number?
If you dont want to put it in the public forum, just PM me with it, thanks

According to the manual, nothing goes more than 60,000 or 6 years which ever comes first. Still, thats a long time away, but I wouldn't risk eg the water pump and timing belt for 100,000.
The rest isn't that critical, if something starts to go, you can replace it as needed perhaps. Depends how long you want to keep it for.
Stuff like your trans fluid should be checked regularly too, depending on how hard you like to drive it.
Coolant you can check, but it discolours slowly and isn't so noticeable as it goes off. Some coolants can be detrimental to the alloy and seals as it ages.
Suggest get a new seal kit and bearing fitted to the power steering pump as well, when that leaks (not IF) it will also cost you an alternator overhaul.
