Well said Ronn1.

We just got an email from JD Power. I haven't looked at it yet but have to assume it is the survey you all speak of. I'll also keep an eye out for my $1 within that email.

Use caution: it's a pain to get the $1 to detach from the body of the email. Took me a while.

I didn't bother to detach the $1 bill...I just printed it. In fact, I needed gas so I printed 35 of them.

I've received a survey each time I've bought a new car. When they surveyed me on my GS, I most likely answered that I loved the fit/finish, power/handling but if they asked about the voice command or the mouse control I probably stated it was "satisfactory". Things like that skew the ratings but have no bearing on the reliability or build quality of the car.

After all is said and done, I would rather have a reliable car with satisfactory technology than one with cutting edge technology that leaves me stranded on the side of the road.

Exactly right. The true valuable survey to the consumer is the dependability study that looks at issues with three year old vehicles where Lexus is consistently tops.

I've just this week received request from JD Power to take the survey on my 16 NX. I sat down, got online, thinking it would take 20/30 minutes and ended up taking closer to an hour. Maybe I'm slow, but to be fair to the car I tried to give enough thought to all the questions. It also takes more time when you give comment on items of special interest. Would be interesting to know if anyone else has taken this survey.

I've been buying and leasing cars for over 50 years and have never received a survey from JD Powers. I've always wondered who really is sent one and how do they determine who gets one.

I was reading in different forum, the 4RX forum I think. One poster stated that her friend gave her his survey to fill out and her parents gave her theirs to fill out. Now you have to wonder how reliable this survey is.
