Getting Homelink to work with gate at community
I went to the office and asked if the gate was homelink compatible. They told me no but for some reason I don't want to take their word for it. Mostly because getting a remote from them would cost $75 bucks and I don't even get to keep it.
Does anyone know a way to truly find out if the gate is homelink compatible? And if it is, how to get it to work?

even if it was compatible, they would have to push the equivalent of the "learn" button on the gate and then you press the button on the car after setting the car to learn a compatible remote.
I guess that's one way, borrow a remote from someone and see if the Lexus can even learn it. If it can't, then you're out of luck.
And even if it can, the office will probably not even help you in pairing it with the gate.

yep, had a Lexus paired up with the gate on my community a couple years back (not NX of course)... I got "remotes" along with the house I bought - they were handed over with the keys. If you can "borrow one" as mentioned above from a neighbor or even the community office - learn it in. But if the NX ever loses the program, you are going to be screwed trying to get into your community (or maybe you have a phone-code that also will open it).
