Unhappy with parts of Lexus Entune system
I've had my NX now for nearly one month. I love the vehicle in general but I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with various parts of the Lexus Enform setup.
For instance, the Lexus Enform Remote registration requires your email address. I found out on my own and this was confirmed by Lexus Tech Support that something on the Lexus side requires an email domain can not be a single letter. My normal email is xyz@q.com, which is a completely valid domain. Other than being completely unnecessary, this was easy to get around by creating a gmail account.
I've also been almost entirely unsuccessful using Pandora, IHeart Radio, or Slacker music services and getting actual audio to play. I was able to find a link somewhere here that had a compatibility table for different phones and I found out that my iPhone 6 Plus was "untested". Well, why is that, since the phone was available since September of 2014? It doesn't seem to me that it should take over 9 months to evaluate compatibility.
I've seen posts which seem to be saying that it might work, if I do something to cause the audio to be sent over bluetooth to the car, instead of via the USB connection. Yet I've never seen a concise set of directions on how to do this that match the car and the phone.
Can anyone help? Is there any Lexus representation here?
Even the Lexus "Tech Specialist" at the dealer has been unable to figure this out.

Pandora and iheart work on mine when I connect through bluetooth and enable bluetooth audio. Check your phone settings to make sure you enabled bt audio. On my android there was a separate setting for that. The streaming actually sounds really clear to me.

Lexus Enform on NX200t F Sport
We have the app (Lexus Enform Remote) installed on multiple Samsung phones and tablets and all features work great - no problems at all. They are all able to locate the car, lock or unlock, see gas level, see window/door open or closed activity, etc.
On the apps we can play Pandora, iheart, etc through the radio just fine. Everything works like it should.

It took me awhile to get all of the following right:
In order to use Pandora, Slacker, etc. (I'll use Pandora as an example below):
Now that I've done all the above correctly (finally), I just select the app I want from the menu (either via the nav menus or steering wheel buttons) and the channel(s) I want play nicely.
In order to use Pandora, Slacker, etc. (I'll use Pandora as an example below):
- First you must have an open Pandora account (at www.pandora.com)
- Next, Pandora must be installed on your smartphone.
- You must connect your email to Pandora on the Enform App Suite website (at www.lexusenformappsuite.com)
- On your smartphone the Enform App Suite must be open.
- On your smartphone Pandora must be open and logged in.
- Your smartphone must be connected to the car's entertainment system via Bluetooth.

You seem to be suggesting that you must have both the Lexus Enform App installed and open AND the Pandora app installed and open on your phone? I'll certainly give this a try, but if this is the case, this is the first time I've read this anyplace. Pandora is an app within the Lexus Enform app and up till now, I've only read that you must have the Lexus Enform app open and be logged in and have Pandora linked at https://www.lexusenformappsuite.com/

Interesting... I would not have thought the cell phone carrier would be all that important. At least last night when I had the link to do the check, the iPhone 6+ on Verizon was shown as untested.

While I did not state this, I do have the Lexus Enform app on my phone and I have my various accounts on the apps all set up and linked here: https://www.lexusenformappsuite.com/

You and me both! ;-)
Give me 10 minutes or so and I'll see what happens now. Oh... I also read someplace to go into the iPhone settings under general and to select reset there to reset all the phones settings.

UPDATE: You do not have to have the app running, only the Enform App Suite.
The steering controls allow you to select the source and skip forward in the current stream/channel only. The nav controls allow selection of the stream/channel (and play/pause, skip, etc.)

Registering Lexus app
Here is a link to the Lexus manuals for the NX200t online:
https://carmanuals2.com/brand/lexus/nx200t-2015-4366
If you scroll down and download the "Lexus Enform- Overview" they discuss the preparation needed before using the Lexus App Suite.
It sounds like you are beyond this now and almost have it working?

I did got back in the car under settings and I deleted the iPhone's bluetooth pairing and I then I repaired them, this time, with the Lexus Enform app running on my phone. I did notice something interesting I'm pretty sure I did not see before. There was an entry on the car bluetooth pairing screen indicating the car now recognized the app was there and running.
I got a little excited at that point thinking that was the problem.
So I went back and tried to get audio from Pandora with the phone connected to the car's USB port but once again, there was no sound.
However, as soon as I disconnected the USB cable, I did have Pandora audio from the phone through bluetooth, so I guess that is some measure of success!
But now, if I just have the phone connected to recharge from the other port, don't I lose certain functionality?
I have to have some more coffee and think about this for a bit, but I think I do lose some functionality.
However, I'd like to thank you for your assistance on this.
