Dealership 1st and 2nd service experience
How was your first and/or second (5000 and 10,000) mile service at your dealership? Curious to know what oil brand your dealership used for your NX.

You will be surprised to know that some dealers do not use Lexus/Toyota oil. I asked the service department what oil they were using a while back, and they told me it was synthetic valvoline!

Our Kansas City Lexus dealer also indicated they use a synthetic Valvoline brand as well.

The dealer will likely use whatever oil meets the required specs and is the cheapest, or what they stock. And the brand of oil, or who does the oil change has nothing to do with the warranty

if you've been in the quick lube area, some dealerships have 2 hoses with triggers to dispense oil. i believe one was 0-20 and the other was 5-30. it might or might not be toyota oil. i didn't ask about the brand.

Lexus in NZ offers the best after sale service compare to Audi, Mercedez and BMW. They go extra mile to make you feel you are home and pampered, I am always offered cake/biscuits AND coffee/tea/soft drinks whenever I am there whether for servicing, getting something installed or just looking around.
I sent my car in to have the tow bar installed, we never really had much education on how to tow stuff in NZ, you just tow it. But the after sales went through a 20 min tow session when I picked up the car and it was amazing.
Lexus NZ always offered a newest model Lexus as courtesy car to drive to work but my office is not too far and driving actually takes longer (one way street, bus only lane... etc), so I declined most of the time.
besides Lexus NZ offers a free 4 years servicing plan with any Lexus, you only need to pay 4 things, Petrol, Registration, Insurance and tyres... I think I will be a Lexus man for the forseeable future.

Very true, every dealer is different. The dealership here in Honolulu uses Sunoco synthetic, bulk drums at the dealership location. They have a separate repair facility that handles more involved, larger repair work, and that facility uses the OEM Toyota oil
